Portugal will hold an open call to select the songs that will take part at Festival da Canção 2011 the broadcaster told to oikotimes.com some minutes ago. The full details, including the regulations, will be published in the following days on RTPs website.
RTP will use the same selection method of 2010: Till mid January, authors, singers and groups can submit their songs through RTP website. The teams have about two months to submit their entries. A jury of experts will select between 20 to 24 best songs (the exact number will be announced at the regulations). Then the Eurovision fans from all over the world will have the chance to listen, vote and select their favourite through RTPs website.
The 12 most voted entries will compete in a big final, to be held on the first week of March (4 or 5 March 2011). The song to Dusseldorf will be selected by a mix of jury and televoting (50/50) the same method of 2009 and 2010. The songs must be performed in Portuguese; the artists and the authors (lyrics) must have Portuguese citizenship but the composer can be foreigner.
Pronto mantém-se o metodo, pena não se poder cantar nem que seja 50% da canção em inglês, e vamos é ver a composição do juri!
O site FestivaisRTP, acabou de revelar em 1ªmão, que o Festival da Canção 2011 realizar-se-á no Teatro Camões no dia 5 de Março.
Palco dos Festivais de 2008 e 2009, o Teatro Camões voltou a ser o escolhido para o Festival RTP da Canção, depois de a edição de 2010 se ter realizado no Campo Pequeno. Assim, dia 5 de Março todos os caminhos irão dar ao Teatro Camões, no Parque das Nações, para ouvir as 12 músicas escolhidas da semifinal online sendo que uma irá representar Portugal em Dusseldorf. Em breve a RTP, vai divulgar o regulamento do certame.
